Curious
I’m listening to German radio over the internet and I note that their traffic reports include announcements of where speed traps and cameras are set up. I wonder how long a U.S. station could get away with doing that? On a similar note, while I was in Germany last month I saw a television report that showed that the cameras wouldn’t function when cars were driving faster than 251 km/hour.

The station here in Tucson does it regularly. The police announce the official mobile camera locations each day, and all the stations report it. The radio I listen to occasionally reports radar traps, but not consistently. My guess is they wait until someone reports it to them, and few people think to do so.

I know the German one actively solicits listeners to call in with the location of radar traps. What drew my attention was that this happens in Germany, where the stereotype is that the people are all law-abiding automatons, something I know isn’t true.
