I don’t see electoral politics as a course that truly gains freedom.

I'm with you 100% on that one (and much more). I'm too busy living free to take part in that no-win game.

What's worse about the situation is that so many "radical" libertarians are now putting out the call to get behind him, how he's such a good, pragmatic choice ... and a fair amount of that seems predicated on his alleged renunciation of his previous deeds and beliefs.

I'm not buying any of that crap—which shouldn't be surprising, since I don't see electoral politics as a course that truly gains freedom.

Thanks for the response, Sunni. I'll give Jonathan Wright a whirl. I just finished one of Victor Milan's Rogue Angel books. It was pretty entertaining and reminded me of some of the things I read back in my high school years (in a good way).

Have you read Jonathan Wright's "Golden Age" trilogy? Seems like something you might enjoy ... or perhaps something else I've reviewed might suit you better. Recommending books is such a hit-or-miss proposition!

I know the German one actively solicits listeners to call in with the location of radar traps. What drew my attention was that this happens in Germany, where the stereotype is that the people are all law-abiding automatons, something I know isn't true.

The station here in Tucson does it regularly. The police announce the official mobile camera locations each day, and all the stations report it. The radio I listen to occasionally reports radar traps, but not consistently. My guess is they wait until someone reports it to them, and few people think to do so.

I believe there was a program in the 80's / 90's that searched emails. I think it was called Carnivore or something.

On the other hand, the NFL is getting a taste of its own medicine when Congress wants to meddle with how the NFL handled the whole Patriots spycam thing.
